CS major without prior experience

Just wanted to ask any CS majors at Cal Poly how hard CS classes are without any prior exposure, and if it’ll be manageable… I’m taking APCS Principles right now, but it’s just coding with blocks and stuff so I’m not sure how much that’ll help.

3rd year CS -> SE major here.

You’re completely fine. I barely knew anything about programming when I started my freshmen year but the introductory courses get you up to speed really well. There are cases where you will meet other students who are lightyears ahead in CS knowledge and depth, which can be somewhat intimidating (but it all evens out in the end).

That makes me feel a lot better, thank you!
