Can someone tell me the difference between Computer Science in L&S and EECE, I know one's a B.S. and one's a B.A., but other than that, Which one is more VALUABLE in terms of employment or getting into grad school???

but then why is EECE harder to gain admission into?
and I presume EECE has harder classes too because it's engineering focused?

EECS is more difficult to get into * as a freshman *. However, once you're in, all you have to do is pass your classes and you will graduate with the degree. Granted, simply passing EECS classes is not easy, but all you have to do is pull straight C's.

To get admitted into CS, you first have to get admitted into the College of L&S. This first step is easier than getting into EECS. But you then have to pass a second step, which is to get formally admitted into the CS major, and this is contingent upon your grades in lower-division CS courses. Plenty of people try to do into the major and are denied. Plenty of other people don't even try to get into the major because they get such mediocre grades in those CS courses that they know they won't get into the major, so they don't even try.

The upshot is that it is almost certainly harder in toto for somebody to get into the CS major than into the EECS major. Or, put another way, there are far more people who graduate from the CS major with top grades than from the EECS major, simply because those people who got poor grades in CS don't even get into the major in the first place. Hence, what pulls down the EECS figures are the salaries of those people who got 2.5's or lower GPA's. CS doesn't really have these people because these people couldn't even get into the major in the first place. Hence, they don't have that many people dragging down the figures.
