CS Placement Exam

I'm transferring to RIT in March and need to take the CS exam. My previous CS work has been in C++ and C#, so I need to learn Java fast. Does anyone have experience with the placement exam, or have syllabi from the CS classes I can look at?

All I could find was this:

[RIT:: Computer Science » Documentation](http://www.cs.rit.edu/resources/computing/documentation)

Hopefully, it will be of some use to you.

Good luck!

First, I wouldn’t worry too much about the placement exam, as it is very simple. If you are fairly experienced in C# then Java will look very familiar. If you want to look at the differences, then Wikipedia is your friend, as always. [Comparison of Java and C Sharp - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Comparison of C Sharp and Java - Wikipedia)

Also, many of the professors maintain the full course syllabi and many other details on their personal web pages. The full list of faculty are here: [RIT:: Computer Science » Faculty](<a href=“Department of Computer Science | Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences | RIT”>Department of Computer Science | Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences | RIT)

An example of the full course listing can be found on Professor Heliotis’s web page here: [Jim Heliotis’s Courses](James Heliotis's Courses)

On that page is a substantial number of the courses offered in the CS department, and you will find much of the information you may want in there. The reason Google will fail you on this material is that the CS department blocks the Google search engine from indexing their site. Knowing how to find this stuff in the CS department (and other department) website is a useful skill to learn at RIT.

Good Luck.

Thanks tabletcorry, that is exactly what I was looking for.
