Cs programming c++ and discrete placement exams

Hello everyone,
Im a 3rd year transfered student admitted for this spring 2020. Ive just got an email saying that im required to take the placement exams of c++ and discrete in order to take the next classes. My question is that can i appeal not to take it because i already took those classes almost 2 years ago with As. Why would i have to take it again? And if i fail i will have to retake the class. It doesnt make any sense to retake a class that you already took. Did anyone successfully appeal to not take it?
Thank you so much for your responses.
