CS transfer to EECS

hey guys i'm an incoming freshman and I've decided to transfer from L&S to CoE (i originally applied to L&S with premed in mind, but now imma focus on CS).

So I'm wondering how should I pick my classes? I'm comparing the reqs for CS and EECS so that I can take the shared classes my freshman year. I know the pre-req. for CS, but what classes are essential for EECS majors?

What does CoE look for in transfers?

Can anyone link me to the old EECS transfer threads? I remember one in which the poster/commenter had planned out his 1st year.

thanks

Why not just do a CS major? Why do you want to do EECS? It may be it’s not worth the extra effort.

Essential lower divs for EECS (not including CS): Math (1A,1B,53,54), Physics (7A,7B), EE40

If all you’re going to do is CS, why even bother transferring into EECS? You’ll have to deal with more physics and EE courses. Besides the CS overlap, I think the only other overlap is in Math, with 1A, 1B and 54. EE40 might count for the L&S CS EE42 requirement but I’m not sure about that.

Clarifying Chairman Meow’s post: you receive no credit for EE42 after taking EE40, so yes, EE40 does count for EE42.

You also need to take EE20N for the engineering requirement. It’s also worth mentioning that you must take Physics 7B (and Math 1B) before you can take EE40 because it is a prerequisite.
