CS - UCSC vs SJSU

Hello, I’m having trouble deciding which school to go to. I’ve toured both SJSU and UCSC recently and honestly both campuses are nice enough in which I decided that won’t factor into my decision. I currently applied for Computer Science for both schools and got into the school of Engineering for UCSC and Undeclared for SJSU. Here’s what I’m thinking currently.

SJSU:
-Since the location is in the middle of Silicon Valley, it means a higher possibly for a great career?
-Harder curriculum or professors more lenient? CS hardest major @ this school?
-Classes in this major are extremely impacted making it take longer to graduate, 4.5 - 6 years
-More of a one way street kind of deal compared to UC’s where you still have the possibility of transferring to another UC.
-high risk high reward since it’s more highly regarded?

UCSC:
-Safer option? Since if CS is too hard there are other solid majors to switch to
-CS is solid here?
-Still possibilities for internships
-UC reputation with the name known

Those are just many of the considerations I’ve came up with. Which school should I go to?

You don’t list cost so, i assume the cost of both is fine for your family.

CS is a very difficult and time consuming major at both schools. Many students can’t hang and fail or switch after a semester or 2.

SJSU is outstanding at a couple of majors (CS included) and OK in the rest. UCSC is very good at most majors.

I’d head to UCSC - the all around better school.

Add to it:
SJSU: more of a commuter school
UCSC: more of a residential school
Does this matter to you?

“I currently applied for Computer Science for both schools and got into the school of Engineering for UCSC and Undeclared for SJSU.”

Oops, missed this part. You should go to UCSC since you are accepted into the Engineering major. At SJSU will be hard to transfer into computer science.

I’m going to be living the campus for both schools. Also I thought it wasnt hard to transfer into computer science but rather hard to get into the necessary classes?

It isn’t hard to switch into engineering at UCSC, but it might be hard to switch into engineering at SJSU
