My D got admission in CS at UMass Amherst ,ASU,University of Florida,Penn State and UT Dallas. which one should she join. She is International student from India.
Ask her to make a list of what is important to her, so academic rigor, social life and Greek life, weather, on campus housing, urban versus small town. Then see which of these programs fits the things that matter to her most.
All offer well known CS programs. Dallas is the most urban, along with ASU near Phoenix.
You can look for International clubs at each school, I believe all of them will offer that.
Weather is one differential, if that matters to her at all.
Did she get into any Honors programs, such as Barrett Honors program at ASU? That one in particular gets good reviews for smaller class sizes and good peer group.
U Mass allows some cross registration at smaller liberal arts colleges and a good busing system to get around
in that semi rural part of Massachusetts.
If ease of travel matters, Phoenix and Dallas will be easier. Gainesville maybe the hardest to get to, fly to Jacksonville? , and U Mass, need to fly to Hartford, Connecticut or Boston, MA, and bus over.
