<p>I assume CS stands for “Computer Science” and CIS stands for “Computer Information Systems”.</p>
<p>CS is probably the harder, more mathematical, more general-purpose degree. CIS is probably more like IT and good for going into business/office work.</p>

<p>Nothing guarantees you a job out of college, although some majors do improve the chances relative to others. Economic and industry cycles do have a significant effect.</p>
