CS188 Enrollment confusion

So I'm an EECS transfer and want to take CS188 in the fall.

My Phase II is next week and I'm looking at the schedule for CS188, it says it is full for EECS w/ junior standing, but it also says there are open seats.

So am I going to be able to sign up for the class because there are open seats or I won't be able to because the seats are full for EECS major?

Shouldn't the "Open Seats" be full first before the seats for EECS major being full?

I am very confused at how the open seats work and nobody else seems to know :(

CS enrollment is super weird right now. Like, it’s usually a mess to register, but this semester has new policies so it’s extra weird. You can read about it here: [Getting Into CS Classes | EECS at UC Berkeley](Getting Into Computer Science Classes - Google Docs)

There’s plenty of seats left in 188… just sign up and wait patiently. You should be able to get in.

Also, uh, if you’re a new transfer, you should probably prioritize your lower division requirements… have you completed any of 61ABC, CS70, EE20N, and 40? You should try and get those done ASAP.

My Phase II is next week, so will Tele-BEARS put me in the waitlist or will I be able to get in if there are “Open Seats” left?
