Looking over the syllabus (ppt) for cs 2100/2060 I noticed that it is mostly based upon MS Office. IF I am already Certified by MS as an expert in Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is there any way to waive this class, or will I just have to pay for an extremely easy "A"?

I’d suggest talking directly with your major’s department leader about things like that. Of course certain people you ask (like the course teacher his/herself) are going to push you to take it. I had people continually tell me that I’d have to take MAC1105, but at orientation, the adviser for my major told me that I didn’t because I already met the requirements for going onto the next math class for my major.

Oh and I see that you can actually CLEP out of 2060, so you might want to do that.

Do you have the top bright futures scholarship? If so, I suggest against CLEPping the class. It will end up being about the same cost, and at least you will get an A towards your GPA, as opposed to just an exam credit. It’s something to think about.

For the record, the class is an easy A, even if you’re not certified by MS.

I would take it just because it will be a VERY easy A, and every little bit helps when it comes to your GPA.

Guess i’ll stick with it. The textbook is kinda expensive for something I can figure out myself. Does the professor ever assign anything from it?

what is the textbook for the course?
