CSM, RHIT or Purdue for ChE

Hello,
I'm and international student, and so far, I have gotten the admission from Colorado School of Mines and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, for the fall 2010, while I'm waiting for Purdue University to give me the admission. My plan is to study Chemical Engineering, and I'm interested in a good social life. In addition, I'm looking for a place where the prices for the accommodation are low.

I don't care about the tuition because I have got a scholarship for that. However, I have the responsibility of the living expenses.

Although all of them are good schools, I know that both Colorado School of Mines and Purdue University have very good reputation, while RHIT isn't that known.

And yes, of course, I want to study Chemical Engineering in an excellent school, so regarding my needs and how good the universities are, which school do you recommend? Why?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Because Mines and RHIT are engineering colleges, you will find a better social life at Purdue? However, CSM chemical engineering graduates are heavily recruited by top oil companies. I dont know much about Purdue and RHIT’s programs, but CSM chemical engineering program is definitely top-notch.

^To add to the above, CSM and RHIT are very similar: small, highly male, not much social life. CSM is public, RHIT private. CSM is in a very scenic location, and not far from Denver. RHIT is a little outside Terre Haute which is three times larger than Golden, CO but not as nice/picturesque. RHIT is about 45 minutes drive from Indianapolis airport though. Denver airport is a little closer to CSM and many other nice ski areas and cities like Colorado Springs are not too far away. RHIT is probably better academically but much more expensive (though that’s not an issue for you).
In contrast, Purdue is a very large school right in a small city. So for social life that would be first. CSM would be a distant second and RHIT third. You would live in the dorms at RHIT and mainly eat on campus unless you had a car or could get rides.

Thank you pnptruong and mrego for your highly respected comments.

Can I get other opinions regarding CSM’s reputation in ChE, whether it’s over Purdue and RHIT?

What about the accommodation prices? Any ideas?

BTW, can University of California, Riverside and University of Arizona be compared to the schools above with the academic level?

Thanks

lol i thought that RHIT said something else
