CSOM vs. A&S HELP

So i sent in my RD application as a prospective economics major in A&S and wrote in my essay how A&S would let me double major in Econ and Spanish. However, now I’m realizing that I’m more attracted to CSOM and wish I had applied there. I feel like if I change my prospective major to the economics concentration in CSOM I will look stupid because I put A&S in my essay. and yes, I know how difficult it is to internally transfer. Any tips or advice?

If you get accepted into BC, you’ll be in a better place than many thousands of others who didn’t get in. A&S is still awesome. Make the best of it.

On one hand, you applied to A&S so the die is cast. On the other hand, you can still take up to 8 courses in CSOM as an A&S student anyway, so you can cherry-pick a good course sequence without taking some CSOM core classes you may not be too interested in. I think jpm50 nailed it by saying A&S is an awesome school. You’ll be just fine. Good luck to you!

@gobosox‌ no you cant take classes at CSOM of you are in CAS. It is only the other way around

^^sry, AS, but you are incorrect. A&S students can minor in CSOM, so obviously, they have to be able to take classes in that College.

AS, students in A&S can take up to 8 courses in CSOM. Transferring internally from A&S to CSOM is virtually impossible, but taking courses in CSOM is quite easily done.

I ended up switching because they said it doesn’t penalize you at all and that they are understanding people. If I don’t get in, I’ll always have my backup Bentley which is still an awesome school too
