css and fafsa too late?

while i was doing the css profile i saw something that said priority filling was in january for usc, does this mean that i am too late? i had no idea i had to do this financial aid stuff so early, what can i do now besides finishing it as soon as possible

hey i guess there's nothing to do but get them in asap...but y'know...better late than never, right?

no, you can still get aid, trust me! but DO fill out the two forms ASAP, and definitely before the due dates of March 2. don't worry if your parents haven't filed taxes yet...you will correct the FAFSA later once they do.

i was in the same exact situation. i was devastated when i saw that "priority filing dates" passed and i hadn't finished my FAFSA or CSS profile. however...what they mean is that if you complete them before this date, they can guarantee that you'll know the amount of your financial aid package well before you have to commit (the beginning of May, i believe).

i don't advise as it will save you a lot of heartache, but i finished both forms just a few weeks before the due dates, and didn't turn in completed copies of my dad's income tax forms (that is: the 1040, W-2, and ALL Schedules) until 3 weeks before the decision date. and i didn't know what my complete financial aid package was until 5 days before decisions were due! so because i was so late in turning things in, i didn't find out "well in advance" of the commit date, but they did get to me.
