Hey folks,
My financial circumstances do not allow me to pay for the css profile and I realise that I need to contact individual colleges to obtain css fee waivers, if at all. The question is, how?
Are you asking what method of communication? I would suggest email first, with a phone call being second choice.
I don’t know whether or not colleges provide their own fee waiver for Profile; CSS does not offer waivers for those whose parents are not residing in the U.S.
Are you hoping for full ride? (How much can your family pay for you to attend college each year for four years, including health insurance and transportation/flights?)
If you cannot pay the $25 fee for the college, how will you cover transportation costs?
Hi, you’ll definitely need to email each college separately stating your full name, country of residence and that the CSS fee would be financially stressful for your family. Ask the colleges if they will allow you to send the ISFAA in lieu of the CSS profile, or whether they can provide you with a waiver code. I did precisely the same thing and received codes from some of my choices. However, some colleges may reject this but don’t lose heart. Good luck!
If you need a sample of the email, please feel free to pm me!
