I have heard so many horror stories about filing the CSS profile that I am dreading to even start. I have even heard of people hiring a person to file the CSS for them. Please help.... is it that difficult? DO I need to hire someone too?

Oh please. It’s a form with very good directions. The key is to have all of the information you need at hand when you fill it out…completed tax returns if possible…or current pay stubs, most current bank account balance information, W-2 forms, etc.

If you sit down and try to do this without the information you need right in front of you, it will be impossible.

If you are applying regular decision, and your deadlines aren’t until after taxes are complete it won’t be a problem. Do the FAFSA first…then print it out. Most of the same information is required on the Profile.
