CSS/IDOC Do all the schools that use the CSS require my W-2s?

Hi! We are finally at the end of the application process. I have one last question: Do all schools that use the CSS require my W-2s and if not is there a way I can find out which do? Also I see mention of IDOC here – feeling ignorant but can someone please let me know what IDOC is…
Thanks!

Look on the financial aid website for your colleges. The required submissions will clearly be listed there. If the college requires IDOC, that will be on there as well…and all the DEADLINES too.

@writermomma - IDOC is the place where you go to upload your financial documents. When you log into IDOC, each individual school will list the required documents. You only need to upload each document once. Schools will be able to retrieve this Information from IDOC once it is uploaded and made available. If memory serves me correctly, after filling out the CSS profile and submitting it, you should get an e-mail with a link to IDOC.

If you have multiple W2s, they will have to be scanned in separately and uploaded. You will also need to upload your 1040 and any schedules. You will have to do this for your child as well, if they worked. If there is a non-custodial parent, they will have to upload their documents separately. I uploaded my entire tax form with schedules as one pdf file. IDOC separated my pdf out into separate files, I.e. 1040, Schedule C, Schedule D etc…

Hope that helps.

This poster first needs to find out if their colleges USE IDOC. Some do…and some don’t. So…start there. Look on each college website.
