CSS: 'one time submission' - what if I transfer?

Say I applied to A, B and C for the 09-10 school year.
Finally filling out the CSS, I used 08's finances for the application.

Well, I'm dissatisfied with 'A'. Very. I'm withdrawing.
Continuing with the hypothetical, I got in to A, B and C. So they're all set. The CSS I originally submitted stays on file.

What happens regarding CSS if I apply to D, E and F? Do I reuse that CSS application for all of my undergrad or will they ask for a new one, the year I apply?

Thanks!

Like the FAFSA, the CSS Profile must be completed each year.

From what I’ve heard, I know that much is incorrect. Every school that I’ve been accepted to has said you submit your CSS the first year only. FAFSA each year.

You’ve answered your own question…“you submit your CSS the first year only”. So if you apply for the first time in a future year, you would need to do a new CSS for that year for the new schools you apply to. I seriously doubt if you were applying to a school this year they would accept a CSS that you did 1 or 2 years ago.

Right, I think we’re both correct - I wanted to be sure if it went by school or by CSS (original) submission.

Just checking. Aka hoping. (08’ was a better year as far as CSS goes)

I have to do Profile every year for my D - so if you transfer, you may need to do that also. It must vary by school.
