My son has been accepted somewhere already with full merit but it’s not very high on his list. Th rest of his EA schools come out over the next couple of months so we’ll see how those shake out and then RD come out in April. I’m hoping as he starts hearing from schools if he is accepted he can start to eliminate schools he isn’t interested in but I guess we’ll see. He was deferred at his ED school so he also has more work to do for that school. Looks like a long haul for us until we have any decision.
sorry, can’t answer your original question. but what I do know is that 1)when we looked at some in depth Net Price Calculators for CSS schools, they amount we owed was higher than our sons’ EFC determined by FAFSA. No way could we do that with 4 kids. so . . . 2) our kids have all applied to FAFSA only schools, and took auto merit money. I don’t know or remember your personal income, but that might be help to him if you were custodial parent. Hopefully you’ll cast a large net and see some options. sounds like he’s been working hard!
