My CSS Profile says that it is getting sent out for Caltech on January 16th, and the priority filing date is on the 15th. Will that work against me? Or is it okay if it is a couple days late?

Also, if FAFSA is late (it's also due January 15th for Caltech), will that hurt my chances of getting financial aid?

From personal experience, being a couple days won't matter too much. My CSS profile was filed more than a week after the 11/15 EA deadline, but I still got (decent) financial aid. In fact, a Caltech official via email told me that I'm fine as long as I file before the end of November.

I don't know if RD is as lax, but I wouldn't be too worried. Still, it's a good idea to notify them about possibly missing the deadline.

I emailed Caltech about Financial aid recently. They stated that their deadlines aren't set in stone. If you send it in one day or even a few days later, nothing will happen.

Actually, I sent my CSS in mid-late December (Collegeboard reports that it was sent out like 12/20), and I got a response in about two weeks after that. That's WAY past the deadline for EA applicants, but I was fine. (I didn't contact Caltech either, although perhaps I should have.)

hey, really, aurona? I want to apply to caltech early action and submit CSS mid-late december (around dec. 15) because there are still some finanical things that needs to be worked out, and my parents think submitting nov. 15 is too early. So, should i risk submitting CSS profile a month after the Nov. 15 deadline?
