CSS profile and SNN problems

Hey,
I am an international student trying to get enrolled in 2012.
The problem is, I've read that I will possibly get a need-based financial aid from several universities ( MIT, Princeton, Amherst, Yale, Harvard, Dartmouth ) BUT there is an information saying that I should have had a CSS profile filled. In order to do so, I will need a SNN, how can I get that before applying ? I'm extremely confused.

Best,
Pawel

You can’t get a Social Security Number yet because you don’t have the correct immigration status to qualify. Try filing the form using 000000000 instead.

You also can contact each of the universities directly to ask them what you should do. Some might not require the CSS Profile because you are an international student. They would ask you to file other forms instead.

You need to take the time to read through [EducationUSA | Study Abroad, Student Visa, University Fairs, College Applications and Study in the U.S. / America](http://www.educationusa.state.gov/) Then you should make an appointment with the counselors at the advising center closest to you. They have experience with students like you and can help you through the application process.
