I know that there has been some discussion on whether the schools look at the other schools that FAFSA was filed with. Can they see they see the other schools that you submit the CSS Profile to?

Good question! I was assuming yes, but I don’t know for sure. Hopefully someone else will chime in who knows more!

I did some more research after posting yesterday and the answer is yes, all schools you send the profile to are listed for all colleges to see.

However, you can send one at a time or in bunches. But here is where you have to be careful. You send to college 1, then you go back in and send to college 2. College 1 only knows you sent it to them, college 2 sees both schools.

D is applying to a match school that is not always need blind in the admissions process. It is also a school that is sensitive to being a “safety”. So I sent the CSS profile to that school and another match school. Then I went back in and added her two reach schools and sent it to them. The reaches could care less about the match schools.

All of the safeties were FAFSA only schools, so when sending the FAFSA, I listed the safeties and the two match schools, once confirmation comes that the FAFSA has been processed, I will go in and delete the schools it was sent to and add the reaches.
