I applied early action to 2 schools, one requiring the CSS Profile and one that didn’t. If the deadline is early November, am I screwed if I haven’t done anything yet? Will filling out the registration on the website be enough for a November deadline or is there more to fill out that I won’t get in on time and my application won’t be complete???

Is the school saying they need the Profile to process your application for admission, or merely to determine your eligibility for financial aid? The profile data is likely to be premature/out of date, since you'll be working with last year's tax info, etc. I'd recommend checking with the admissions and financial aid offices to find out when they need you to file the Profile data.

Early Action- Students who would like to have their application reviewed early may submit an application by November 1. Students applying under the Early Action process should complete the SAT I or ACT exam by October of their senior year. The Early Action process is non-binding, and students do not have to commit to the institution they plan to attend until May 1. Decision letters will be mailed by December 25. Estimates of financial aid for Early Action candidates can be made after Fordham receives the processed CSS Profile form.

But then somewhere else it says that the deadline to register for Profile is October 1. I thought the Profile didn't come out until October?

I wasn't even sure if I was going to apply on October 1, but now I am applying early so I can find out if I'm in by December 25. I am doing this because if I get in I will get a full tuition scholarship and it would be nice to know I'm in so I don't have to apply to a state school as a safety.

I think I'm just going to send the school an e-mail and hope for the best. I am only applying early for convenience anyways so I guess it's not that big of a deal.

aren't they due Nov. 1 for Early decision? I just noticed that the CSS is a helluva lot of pages...

do you mean you need to register by Nov 1? or does that mean that you register then collegeboard sends you forms that you need to send to the school by Nov 1?

i dunno if we have to FINISH the entire CSS application by nov. 1 or not. So confused.

The CSS must be finished and sent to the university by the deadline they give you (which, for EA, is usually the same date as the postmark deadline for the application itself--Noember 1/15).

"When the school receives the Financial Report, the date
that you submitted your application will be on the Financial Report. The
November 1 date is the date that you must have your PROFILE submitted to
the College Board not to college."

This is a response I received from College Board.
