Hi, this is my first time posting on CollegeConfidential so please bare with me. I am a high school senior doing the CSS profile for when I attend college during 2016-2017. The CSS profile I started was 2016-2017, but I have a couple of questions from those who have encountered this type of situation before or are in the midst of completing their profile:
- Should I be completing the 2016-2017 profile, or should I have been doing the 2015-2016?
- I missed the early deadline for the CSS profile for a school; will this severely hinder me in getting financial aid, or if I submit my CSS profile in the next day can I still be eligible?
- I have filled out all the information for my CSS profile except the 2015 PI part because my parents have not done a tax return for 2015. On this part I am truly confused, could someone please explain to me how to complete this part?
Thank you in advance for reading and replying
I will bear with you, but I will certainly not bare with you.
Were your parents required to file a 2015 tax return? What is their income?
Bear* lmao, was typing so frantically that I overlooked that xD
Actually, I resolved all the problems like 30 minutes after I posted this question. I actually took my time and read through the presentation and additional information, and I realized that I was correct in doing 2016-2017 and that for the 2015 information it was acceptable to just estimate the numbers based off of 2014 information. I submitted the CSS profile, but still, ty for your concern
Oh man! I am going to blame my gaffe on a turkey overload! Of course there has been no 2015 tax return filed.
The Profile you complete should be for the same year that you want aid. So if you want aid for the 2016-2017 school year, you complete the 2016-2017 Profile.
The 2015-2016 Profile is for students enrolled in college this year…the 2015-2016 school year.
Same for the FAFSA!
