<p>US citizens must submit the 2010-2011 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available online at [FAFSA</a> - Free Application for Federal Student Aid](<a href=“http://www.fafsa.ed.gov%5DFAFSA”>http://www.fafsa.ed.gov). Middlebury’s FAFSA code is 003691. (available January 1, 2010) </p>
<p>The IDOC process (U.S. & Canada) </p>
<p>If you have already submitted information to CSS through IDOC for other schools, do not be concerned that Middlebury College is not listed as an option. Your information will be made available to Middlebury College once we are ready to access it. </p>
<p>Beginning in February, and after you have submitted the CSS Profile application, you will receive instructions from the College Board IDOC Service with a link to the IDOC web site to print your cover sheet and requirements document. You should mail the tax information to the College Board along with the completed and signed IDOC Cover Sheet. When the College Board receives your documents, they will electronically image and transmit your tax return statements to Middlebury Student Financial Services.</p>
<p>Tax returns</p>
<p>Your parent’s (biological and stepparent) 2009 signed Federal tax return should be submitted directly to the College Board’s IDOC service. You need to include all schedules and W-2’s. </p>
<p>Your (student) 2009 Federal tax return should be submitted to College Board via the IDOC service, as well.</p>
<p>The noncustodial parent tax return (all schedules and W-2’s)for 2009 should be submitted to College Board via the IDOC service. It is important that the IDOC Cover Sheet accompany the tax return. </p>
<p>Business and Farm tax information</p>
<p>If either parent or stepparent is self-employed or owns an interest of 10% or more in a corporation or partnership, they must complete a Business/Farm Supplement and submit to College Board via the IDOC service. </p>
<p>2009 tax returns for Corporations and Partnerships should be submitted via the IDOC Service. Include all schedules and the K-1. Ownership of less than 10% will require only the K-1. </p>
<p>IDOC Cover Sheet</p>
<p>The College Board will not process any information without an IDOC Cover Sheet. Beginning in February, you can print a duplicate IDOC Cover Sheet from the College Board’s website.</p>
<p>Confidentiality</p>
<p>Just as if you submitted the returns directly to Middlebury Student Financial Services, the confidentiality of your information is ensured. The College Board will electronically store your information in a secure environment and the paper copies will not be retained. </p>
<p>Canadian applicants</p>
<p>The 2009 federal and provincial tax returns and T4’s should be submitted to College Board via the IDOC process.</p>
<p>Other forms (if applicable)</p>
<p>If either parent or student did not file a tax return for 2009, please submit a Nonfiling statement. This can be sent in the packet to College Board via the IDOC service.</p>
<p>A letter of special circumstances can be submitted with the packet via the IDOC service.
