Hello!

I have some questions regarding the CSS/PROFILE. I'm an international student and I plan to apply for financial aid, and most of the colleges I'm applying require the PROFILE.

I have a question: after completing the PROFILE, how will I send my financial documents and all that stuff? Do I have to send them through mail or can I send them by email to each college individually?

Thanks

bump anyone?

It depends on each college. Some colleges require you mail or fax to the FA offices. Some require you to send to IDOC, a college board organization. You need to read the web site of each college.

Never, ever send confidential financial info over e-mail!

It would not be a big deal for international students who don’t have SSN. Fax or Fedex are still recommended.

SSN is not the only issue. Don’t be naive. Never send ANY personal info in an e-mail.

Would you put your financials on a post card? Same thing.

But the problem is: will I have to send a lot of copies to all the colleges I will be applying?
I asked if I could send them on e-mail because I wouldn’t have to spend more money than necesarry. I already have to pay $16 for the PROFILE app pluss the fee that each college asks. I don’t want to spend around $25 for every document I send, since I will have to send them through express mail. Regular mail takes like 3 weeks to arrive and sometimes your documents can get lost in there! E-mail sounds a much more safer and productive way of sending the documents.

If you can’t afford to send the documents how will you afford college? How will you prove that you have the $ needed to get a US visa to study here?

Don’t send confidential documents over email.

That is why I’m applying for financial aid. I thought you would be more discerning than that…

But I will just ask each college personally. You clearly don’t understand the point I’m trying to show you. Thanks for your help @coolweather :)
