Sorry my friend, it’s not in the USA, and it’s not 25k either. I calculated it wrong.
No…this is NOT EFC. The colleges will calculate your family contribution based on the information you provide on the financial aid application forms.
What result are you talking about. The answer to your question will NOT impact the school’s calculation of your family contribution. And it won’t affect the aid your school offers you.
Results of Admission. For example, the need-aware school thinks that I’m good enough to be their freshman and would like to accept me, the only thing left for them to check is my financial circumstances. The school calculate my EFC to be 10k and decide that they can’t meet my need therefore decline me. What if I said on the CSS that I can pay about 20k, will that make the school admission team reconsider their decision ?
A need aware school makes its financial aid decisions about your family contribution.
The admissions department decides if they can admit you given your financial circumstances.
If they don’t admit you, you have been rejected from the school. In my opinion…that is the end of this school.
You can put any amount you want to on those forms in terms of what you SAY you can contribute…but the school will actually calculate the amount the need aware school THINKS you can pay…and that is what is used.
