<p>Dau will be entering college fall 2011 so we are getting prepared. I understand this 2010 tax year is the base year for FAFSA. For colleges using the Profile, would they typically ask for the 2009 tax year returns as well as the 2010 to evaluate need or does it just vary by college?</p>
<p>The 2010-2011 Profile required info from our 2009 tax returns (real or estimated) and also information from our 2008 returns. Copies of the actual tax returns varied by college: some require just copies of 2009 returns, but I know of at least one college that required copies of 2008 as well.</p>
