CSS PROFILE - Non Custodial Forms Question

Hello,

So, I was just curious about the non-custodial forms for the CSS/ PROFILE. I'm meeting with my mom tomorrow to fill out the official CSS non-custodial form on the College Board website, and I wanted to make sure that she doesn't have to fill out extra non-custodial forms. I know some schools have a non-custodial parent form that you can download, such as Oberlin and Washington University in St. Louis, and I wasn't sure if those have to be filled out in addition to the one provided by the CSS. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thanks,

You need to check the financial aid website of each college and any additional information they have sent you to tell for sure. Most colleges want a ton of info from the custodial parent, but only the CSS Profile, personal returns, and any business returns from the non-custodial parent. But there could be exceptions… the only way to tell is to check the college websites.

Thank you for replying. I’ve looked, but they do not indicate either way - unless I missed something, that is. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Both Oberlin and WUSTL indicate that applicants with divorced parents must fill out their specific forms for the Noncustodial on their websites. Oberlin does not use the CSS Noncustodial Profile. WUSTL does use the CSS Noncustodial Profile but ALSO has their own form.

Read the FA web pages for each school carefully. They usually are pretty clear. You can always email the FA office if you are unsure.

Haha, I guess I did miss something! Thank you!
