CSS Profile parent info help?

<p>I was just curious why the profile needs my parents information if I'm considered an independent? They don't support me, so I guess my question is since they're asking for my mom's and step-dad's tax forms, are they going to consider that when deciding how much aid I get?</p>

<p>the FAFSA forms didn't ask me about my parents because I'm independent so I was wondering why CSS Profile does.</p>

<p>some schools do request that- public schools won't but private schools are giving their own money usually so their money their rules I guess.</p>

<p>Not all schools want your parents info after you are independent however so good to have several packages to consider.</p>
