<p>I'm sure I can't be the only one with this question, but I did a search and couldn't find the answer.
My son is s college sophomore. He's applying to transfer to 3 top universities. I'm filling out the CSS profile for him which will be sent to the three possible transfer universities as well as the U he is currently attending (and may return to depending on whether or not he is accepted at any of the others).
Question 2 on the CSS registration asks, "What will be the student's financial aid status during 2012-13?"
The 3 answer choices are
. First-time applicant, entering student (or transfer student)
. Renewal applicant, continuing student
. First time applicant, continuing student</p>
<p>I don't know how to answer, since he would be a "transfer" at three of the schools, but a continuing student at his current school. Am I just not getting this?</p>
<p>I did this several years ago but can’t remember what I did.</p>
<p>I think you need to use 2 different versions of the Profile for the different schools. In the one to his current school, you mark renewal/continuing. For his transfers schools, mark first-time/entering.</p>
<p>I know that there are some questions that are impossible to answer accurately before the deadline, for instance, last year a sibling was a applying to grad school, but we had no idea in Feb if she’d be accepted and attend or not.</p>
<p>Thanks for responding. I sure hope I don’t have to do two different versions–one is bad enough!
I emailed CSS Profile. Hopefully I’ll get a helpful response soon. In the meantime, any suggestions appreciated!</p>
