Is the CSS Profile only for need-based? Or is it just for scholarships in general? Some Universities say need-based while others just state “University-funding.” Please let me know!
If a school web site requires to fill out CSS profile then you have to do it. If the school does not require then do nothing.
Also, Does the CSS Profile automatically send AP and SAT Scores to the colleges since it is affiliated with CollegeBoard?
CSS profile is used to determine eligibility for need based aid. If you are not seeking aid, you do not need to fill it out. While it is administered by college board, it has nothing to do with AP or SAT scores.
WARNING: Rant ahead.
As a general rule, college board sends nothing to schools without your credit card number. Want to send AP scores? Give them $ for each school. Want to apply for need based institutional aid? Give them $ for each school. Want to send SAT scores? Give them $ for each school. And that’s after you’ve paid for the tests, of course. Between AP, SAT1 and SAT2, testing fees, score reports and CSS Profile, College Board has made over $1500 off of just one of my three kid’s high school career. The bulk of that is AP test fees, but still… /end rant.
Same answer as on your other thread. No auto submissions. You need to,request that these scores be submitted, and you need to pay as well…for anything above the couple of freebies you get when you register for the tests.
