CSS profile -use 2009 info?

If the 2010 tax returns are not available before the deadline, can I just use the 2009 info? There may be minor discrepencies between the figures (like a few dollars difference here and there).

Bump.

10 char

Yes - when you first register to do the Profile - it asks you questions - such as have you done your 2010 1040 or will you do it later. Then after you answer those questions - you go to the actual form. If you say your tax return is done - the questions are worded asking you exact numbers from 2010 1040 line 36 and so forth. If you have indicated that you will file but have not done so yet - the income questions are worded differently - asking you questions about estimated income.

finaid offers are often not finalized until final #s are in.
Rather than using 2009 #'s, use your year end check stubs for 2010, so that your guesstimation of need will be more accurate than using old data.

You can update FAFSA when you have filed- but to my knowledge updating of PROFILE numbers is best sent to the colleges & they often will request signed 1040 & W-2 forms anyway for their own records.
