If you used estimates for the 2005 info, do you have to send in corrections once you have file 2005 tax returns, or do you just send the 2005 tax forms to the colleges (as most request them anyway)?

You can't correct the PROFILE so the only way to get the colleges accurate info is to submit directly to them

But is it necessary to send them something indicating _____ is the correct info, since you are allowed to make corrections on the FAFSA, which contains the same info as the CSS....*when i say corrections i'm referring to estimates for 2005 only not other info like amount in savings account, etc.

some schools have different instructions for canadian students, (eg. don't fill in blank blah blah). So my question is, is the same CSS profile sent to all the colleges that you apply to? Can we edit it to specific colleges?

The priority deadline for one of DD's schools was November 15 for the Profile. We sent it off that day. We were told that any corrections need to be made on a copy of the printed Profile and mailed directly to the colleges. It now turns out that we have one more school to send the Profile to, but the deadline for that one is after Feb 1. Still...once the Profile is submitted anywhere, it can only be changed by hand. So...we'll be sending the estimated Profile from Nov (and paying for that...) and then we will send a paper update to the college with the accurate info based on our taxes once completed. Honestly, I think it is a VERY inefficient way to do this!!
