I filled out the CSS Profile for another school for early action but I was planning on waiting till after January 1 to send it to Michigan in order to make corrections to it. I was wondering though if I should sent it now to be considered for scholarships. (i'm very low income).

whats a css profile?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the CSS profile only used by schools in California. I think that Michigan only requires the FAFSA to be completed.

Nope, U of M now requires CSS Profile. And it must not be just Calif. colleges, because Oberlin in Ohio and Agnes Scott in Georgia both require it too.

Wait, so do we need to fill out the FAFSA and the CSS or just the CSS now. I'm a first-year student going into my second semester.

Check the finanical Aid Website.

You definitely need both. From what I understand they use the FAFSA to determine aid for federal and states purposes and use the CSS Profile to determine the university aid that is awarded. They have a very helpful guide you can download.
