Can somebody explain to me what the CSS profile is? I know it has something to do with financial aid, but do I have to do it if i'm doing the fafsa? Please help, as I am very confused

The CSS is basically the financial form for private institutions, not going to lie it can be a pain at times, especially if you have to submit the IDOC, but hey I'm not going to flood you with terms right now, here's a link which you can work from:

Also, perhaps visiting the financial aid forum would be better if you are seeking strong answers since people who are more knowledgeable on financial aid matters will be there more often.

But yeah, good luck, I had to do the CSS by myself last year, but if you start early enough you should be fine.

Is the CSS profile for most schools due in February or later? Which schools require it early like in January?

it sucks, I had to do it myself. Takes about 2 hours if u have all the info and don't procrastinate like me. If ur parents help, it should be much easier. If not, don't worry, If I can do it, u can do it. :)

Some colleges require the CSS Profile in addition to the FAFSA, some only require the FAFSA. ALWAYS double (and triple) check the filing requirements and deadlines for financial aid.

Bucknell wants the profile by January 1st, I know that. Mosts schools by mid-january, I think if applying RD.
