My son is a senior. He got a $2000 scholarship in summer 2009 doing lab research.

In CSS, for SD-110 'How much did you or will you receive in scholarships, grants, and
gift aid during the 2009-10 academic year?', I put in '2000'.

Do I also need to put the same amount under SI-125G 'Enter the income you earned or expect to earn from work in 2009' ? He has no other income besides the $2000.
Or should I put '0' under SI-125G?

I don’t know, but it seems pretty obvious that it’s one or the other. Otherwise they’ll “double dip” you. It’s a scholarship, NOT work. I’m sure it would be zero. BUt…I’ll just bump so someone who KNOWS can answer you.

sorry to ask a question…how long did it take you to complete the CSS? I’m an international and am having a hard time figuring all this out (I’m having to do most of it, as my parents don’t understand English well)

jxh: I’m new to this, so this may be a stupid question, but if the question pertains to the “2009-2010 academic year,” is the summer of 2009 part of the 2009-2010 academic year (which I think of as starting in September 2009) or part of the “2008-2009 academic year?”

Sorry, SD-110 ‘How much did you or will you receive in scholarships, grants, and
gift aid during the 2009-10 academic year?’. So it does ask about the 2009-10 academic year. I do think summer 2009 belongs to 2009-10 academic year though.

If that’s the case, do I need to put the same amount under SI-125G since it asked about the income for 2009?
