CSS revision?

My S applied EA and we had to send in an estimated PROFILE for 2004. Now my H cannot open it to update it with the real W2 info. Suggestions?

From what I've been reading in other threads that cover this issue you are NOT supposed to revise the PROFILE online. You are supposed to make hand corrections to your hard copy and mail to the school(s) to whom you are applying for financial aid. Correcting or updating the FAFSA is completely the opposite. You ARE supposed to update the FAFSA online. Hope I have this right.

Ah - that is useful to know. We completed PROFILE online earlier this year, and now have major revisions to make.

When do we get the hard copy??

I printed out a hard copy at the time I "sent" it to the Collegeboard. I'm assuming that you could still do that if you log on with your user name and password.

Think I would have to pay another 18-per-college fee if I made corrections and had them sent out again? Because in that case, I'm not sure if it's worth the time and trouble...

collegeboard doesn't resend them online.

All you do for most schools is to take a hard copy of the original CSS sheet and write in corrections by hand (pen; white out is not required!) and mail it to the school in question

do you have to send a revised css to all of the colleges you originally sent it to?

well that and probably send a signed copy of 1040 forms and W-2s
I have had the EFC changed by the school- incorrectly I might add, there was some confusion about where to put my daughters living stipend when she was with Americorps, ( I actually had it right- as the advisor at her site, was also a college financial aid administrator)
I have also had the EFC changed because I didn't put the retirement account info in the right place which saved us some money!
So no- you can't change PROFILE but as long as the school has all your financial data updated, they will figure it out.
( but keep tabs on teh FAFSA they may change it- you can check online)
