Hello! I applied to Boston College Early Action in November, and when I was looking at their site, I was unable to find a date for financial aid. (Un)fortunately, I finally found it now, and see that it was on November 16. I have also discovered that my mother has not yet completed the CSS profile. What does this mean for my application, does anyone have any clue? (I’ll have her help me finish it tomorrow, she’s asleep now.)

Last year I also applied EA, without having filled out the financial aid forms yet. It will have no effect on whether you are admitted, deferred, or denied. The only implication is that you will not be able to see what your financial aid package is in December, if you are accepted. You would have to wait until they accept people regular decision (assuming you fill out the forms), at which time they would upload your financial aid information onto the accepted students portal.

not to worry; financial aid apps have no bearing on admissions decisions. BC is need-blind.

The real story is that nothing becomes official until after you file FAFSA and submit your 2013 tax returns (assuming that you are admitted).

The early deadline for CSS is just so that BC could provide you with a tentative financial aid award earlier than normal.

Good luck.
