The commandant spoke to the class of 2010 today and confirmed that CST will be brought back next summer for the class of 2011. They will do a “pilot” run of it during 2010’s 3rd period of GE for some people.

So, to all you future 2011s, you have CST to look forward to now.

correct PETKO. It is an official Air Force training that is taught by Fairchild SERE instructors. As the link says, you only need resistance training later as aircrew.

I have seen neat pictures and heard good things about CST, so you guys should be excited for it!

So, it seems they may not just be bringing it back for the hell of it. It's cheaper than Ops and USAFA is going into a money crunch. In fact, in BCT you'll find out about a couple other changes that will not be cool at all for freshmen. Won't say what, but they suck lol.

wil Ops still be an option? or are they cutting that and replacing it entirely with CST? and hornetguy thanks ever so much for that pleasant little note to look forward to, lol, it's reassuring bits of info like that from you cadets that make us so excited to come ;)

In a way I am kind of excited about these changes. However that may change later :)
So what is the cause of these changes that "suck"? Did you current 4-digs give the cadre a tough time so they are cracking down on us now? ;)

Technically we are not 3-digs until graduation day, and 2011 are not considered 4-digs until they graduate from basic...which I've heard the cadre are definitely going to make worth your while this year. :)

By all means and purposes, though, we've been 3-degrees since the UCI inspection last month...yay for CQ duty...

So if CST lasts one whole summer block, and leave lasts another block, and soaring/jump lasts only half of a block, what will we be doing with the rest of the time?
