CSU A-G Requirements

Hi so I’m a junior in high school and I have one D+ in algebra 2 this past semester. All my other grades are A’s and B’s. I was wondering since I can’t take summer school, could I still get accepted into a CSU in California?

You need 3 years a Math for the Cal states which includes Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II. Getting a D+ 2nd semester in Algebra II does not meet this minimum requirement. You have 2 options to meet the CSU a-g course requirements:

  1. retake 2nd semester Algebra II either during the summer or Senior year or
  2. take a higher level of Math such as Pre-Calc and the pass this class with a C- or higher which will validate your Algebra II D+ grade.

If you do not retake the class/semester of Algebra II, then your D+ grade will also be calculated into your CSU GPA which will also impact your chances at several of the Cal States.
