What is the admission timeframe for CSUs? My S has already gotten into some CSUs but not his number one choice - Sonoma. His application is also being supported by the coach but as of yet no movement. He applied early in the application process but to date has not heard anything. Has anyone been admitted to Sonoma yet?

I think the time frame is the same as most other schools--you can hear back up til March or April. Some schools just respond faster than others.

I don't know of anyone who has gotten into Sonoma; I've had friends hear back from about five CSUs (I think Fullerton, SF, Humboldt, San Diego, Los Angeles. Maybe the Cal Polys? I'm not totally sure.)

Sonoma is one of the campuses that the CSU Trustees were saying earlier may limit their enrollment due to budget constraints in California. One of the considerations CSU was talking about was limiting enrollment based on where the applicant lives, i.e. those living closer to the campus would have priority. Perhaps they are waiting to hear about the final budget cuts prior to sending out final acceptances. The day they plan to officially post their decisions is probably on the website. Sonoma is becoming one of the more popular CSU's so maybe they will be like Berkeley and UCLA and post their decisions last. BTW, I know a "walk-on" athlete who had the coach pushing for him last year and he did not hear earlier than anyone else, but he did get in and is attending Sonoma. Good luck to your son.
