Helping out my DD on filling out her CSU app on CSU mentor. I have a question on the “g” requirement (college prep electives). It states students need 2 semesters (1 year) of “g” requirement. On the drop down, her school has Economics (1 semester class) that she will take in the spring. So it looks like she’ll be missing a semester of the “g” req. But looking more closely, it states any UC “a-f” requirements maybe used to fulfill the “g” requirement. She’s taken 6 semesters of foreign language(area “e”) and 10 semesters of VAPA (area “f”), therefore she has an abundance of extra electives.
So…do we just leave the “g” area with only the 1 semester of Econ on it and assume the schools will know to apply extra classes from the other areas to fulfill it, or should we put her extra VAPA classes in the additional class boxes?
I would put one of the VAPA classes under the g requirement. Did you look up the a-g course list from her specific HS to see if any of the VAPA classes are listed under the g area also?

I figured it out. DD accidently entered her honors humanities class by adding it under VAPA (thinking it was just another art class) even though it was listed under as a “g” requirement by her school. LOL. Good thing there were another pair of eyes looking out for her!

By the way, I missed that DD took intro psych at the local CC this summer, getting an A for the class. I guess we should also include this under the “g” requirement. I’m guessing UC transferable classes at a CC are counted as 2 grades in HS and that they add to your total honors credit. This would up her CSU/UC capped GPA?
Yes, Psych at a CC would be considered Honors.
