Csu calculator calculated my gpa wrong and i accidenlty submtted it my apps with that

<p>The app told me to use this: <a href="https://secure.csumentor.edu/planning/high_school/gpa_calculator.asp#calculator%5B/url%5D"&gt;https://secure.csumentor.edu/planning/high_school/gpa_calculator.asp#calculator&lt;/a> to calculate my GPA and I did it TWICE and it came out with the same GPA. But this GPA is too high! it is 4.27 when I actually have 4.08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it says that:</p>

<p>"Important notice: The calculated GPA returned is based on your input. It is not an official grade point average. Campuses may calculate your grade point average differently based upon your official high school transcript"</p>

<p>So is this ok??????????? I already submitted to many of the CSUs.</p>

<p>IM FREAKING OUT PLEASE ANSWER SOMEONE I DONT WANT TO GET REJECTED PLEASE HELP ME PLEASE IM SO SAD..............</p>

<p>Btw, if you still want to change your application contents, you can try to apply to a new and unapplied CSU by unlocking the application and updating the required field. So it will cost you another application fee but you will be submitting the right info that way…</p>

<p>Good luck!</p>

<p>I’ve talked to many different admissions counselors at different Cal State Schools, and they all said that they disregard the GPA that you put and just calculate your GPA themselves based on they grades that you put. So as long as you put in the right grades, you should be fine. Don’t worry! I was in the same situation you were.</p>

<p>Thank you SO MUCH Freedo!</p>

Did everything end up okay ? Cause I just realized I did the same thing

With the level of impaction that many of these schools are facing at the freshman level, I would think there is NO WAY that self-reported GPA is the main academic criterion, especially as there is so much of the application dedicated to reporting grades. My guess is that they use the self-reported GPA with the test scores to make an initial cut according to the eligibility index (either the CSU-wide index or the higher impacted index). It’s easy to overestimate your GPA but how many kids are going to UNDER-estimate it?

My D2 applied from out of state and her honors and AP equivalent courses hopefully will get the appropriate weighting - but they may not. We aren’t 100% sure. She submitted the higher weighted GPA but we also computed her GPA as if they weren’t weighted just to make sure she met the higher index hurdle (her major and her status as OOS means that she faces some pretty tough competition). She did meet it, so hopefully she is OK regardless of how they calculate her GPA. Of course she probably still won’t get into some programs - she’s at the back of the line given her OOS status.
