CSU Chico vs. UC Davis help!

I am currently going to a community college and only need four more units to transfer to a university as a psychology major.
I really wanted to go to UC Davis since it has such a great reputation but they do not accept spring transfers. Would it be more beneficial for me to wait a whole year to transfer and waste some time when I should already be doing my upper division courses or should I just transfer to CSU Chico which has a lower reputation than Davis but does accept spring transfers?

Wait for UCD!

Well the typical school of thought is that with Psychology, you’re going to need at least a master’s, preferably a doctorate to do anything in the field.

With that said, it’s not where you start (community college, undergrad), it’s where you finish (post-grad) that’s going to matter most to potential employers.

UC Davis is the better school, but I don’t think wasting a year is a good idea at all. Especially when there is the CHANCE that you might not get accepted. If that were to happen, then that year was all for nothing.

If I were you, I’d just suck it up and go to CSUC. If you perform well there, then you should have a great selection of graduate schools (UCD included), in which you’ll be spending several years.

Good luck!

Although I agree with the post above, I think it will be a lot harder getting in to decent grad schools coming from Chico than it would be coming from Davis. Talk to a counselor or admissions officer at Davis and if it’s likely you’ll get in next year wait for Davis. If not go to Chico.
