CSU Chico with honors vs. UCD

Hi, I am a transfer student deciding on schools, and I'm unsure which school would be best for me. I am searching for an outside opinion for perspective.

I am currently in my second year of school at Butte College in Chico, CA. I have a 3.5 gpa and have the possibility of reaching my AA-T in communication studies, and TAG for UC Davis if I continue to study one more semester, and wait for the next application cycle.

My situation is that I have been accepted to the Chico State program with the intention of doing the honors program this fall. I have lived here, have a job, and rooted my life here, but I'm uncertain that Chico state will make me seem lazy, or give people the perception that I am a partier for the rest of my life. I know I will probably do much better academically at Chico, but if its perceived to be a "get-by" school, will that make a difference?

I have friends here, and a great social life (without partying) here, and I also fear I will not have any time to enjoy my college years at university if I attend a prestigious university because I am only a slightly above average student, and will need to take extra time to study.

Opinions welcome.

I think the factors you are deciding on shouldn’t be considered. I don’t think anyone is going to occur to them to think lazy and the party school thing doesn’t stick as far as I have seen. My sister graduated from there and it had the party school thing but she got a very good job initially and a high paying career these past 30 years. I think you have to decide on personal and academic factors. Sounds perfect for you to pick somewhere you will do well and thrive than have to struggle, and for your personal considerations. OTOH, if you are able and willing to take that extra time to study then you can do well at Davis too.
