CSU, D in AP English 4?

In the firsts semester of this year, I got a D in AP English because I got the hard teacher and senioritis, in the previous years I took regular English and got A's. I have a 3.37 GPA (was 3.5 before this year). I heard that I CSU's only accept C's for a-g courses. Do I have to take an extra english class or am i okay?
Also in my application I put down AP English for semester 2 but recently dropped it for a regular english class, do I have to change that for each college I applied to? I tried calling but they were busy.

Most (all?) colleges don’t accept Ds as a passing grade.

Yes, you need to update colleges with changes in your schedule. Better to let them know now rather than after you’re accepted and you send them a final transcript in the summer.

You need 4 years of college prep English with a C or better. You should have gone to see your guidance counselor before switching classes. Go as soon as possible. How to make up classes is discussed here:
