csu fullerton vs univ of sf nursing

I have been accepted to both and am very confused. Anyone have advice?

They are both direct entry and very selective. I need to choose by today.

Congratulations on your acceptances!
Just curious why you must decide by today @manders_01 ?

Since they waitlisted all the top applicants for CSUF, are they giving you only a day to make the decision once you have been admitted off their waitlist? I just noticed they sent out acceptances today.

What are the costs between the schools and are both affordable?
Do you have a preference in location?
Do you have any other direct admit options besides these 2 schools?

@Gumbymom CSUF says that they selected 100 for 40 spots and that you need to respond as soon as possible. The spots will fill up fast from the first grouping

@manders_01 If you know which you want to go to selecting today would be fine. Are you leaning one way or the other?

I think I am leaning towards CSU Fullerton due to the cost. However, I just want to know which program is better.

University of San Francisco is private and I am afraid it will cost too much. I think I am set in CSU Fullerton.

Go to CSU Fullerton. Both are almost certainly reputable programs that should boast 90+% pass rates on the NCLEX exam. Half of registered nurses do not have BA degrees, so you’re already ahead of the pack in some ways by attending one of these two programs. Hopefully, someone familiar with either school can weigh in, but both options are name institutions. I would be worried if you were attending a small regional college with a low graduation rate, and even then, as long as you pass the NCLEX, you’re a RN!

Nursing has become a very competitive field, but it’s also a fairly common field, so I’m not sure there is that much difference between these two programs.

@readthetealeaves: Wow, they sure do not give you much time for a decision.

@manders_01: CSUF seems like the best option. Best of luck.
