I’m curious to know if it’s possible for some CSU’s to allow some students to transfer without meeting all of the ge and lower division requirements. I know you’re supposed to meet them before, but I wanted to know if there were any cases where schools allow students to transfer who were close to meeting the requirements.
I did my 60 transferable units, finished my lower division major classes and all of the ge and core four except for the quantitative reasoning/mathematics. I literally have one class to take before I get my AA and completely fulfill my transfer requirements. The problem is I don’t want to wait an entire year to transfer when I only have one class to take. Will a CSU allow a student to transfer and take the class?
generally - no. they want all the pre-work done at the CC
I am confused about your status, school starts for most CSUs next week Are you saying, you are done with all but one course and have no transfer plan this year? How does one get there?
Anyhow, many CSUs accept Spring transfers for most majors -if that’s you status, pick one that’s open and apply ASAP.

Some, like Chico are closing their application window this month.
Good luck.
Thank you for the reply NCalRent. I applied to transfer last fall, and I tried to take the math class I needed in spring 2016, but my academic counselor advised against it because he believed it would too hard of work load. He told me after I already applied. I would’ve been taking 19 units in Spring. I was conditionally admitted into some schools but had my offer of admission rescinded because of the missing class. I applied to some private schools which accepted me without the math, but they’re expensive. One CSU said they’ll defer my admission until Spring, but I have to have finished math by October 1.
My question was more directed as something I just wanted to know, because I’m sure I’m not going to a CSU this fall.
Wow, sounds like you got a bum steer from your counselor. I am sorry to hear that - it is their job to get this stuff right and, now you get to pay the price.
Good luck with your transfer plan, I hope this detour doesn’t take you too far astray. A spring transfer is very doable.
