I'm caught between choosing the right college for me that will help my career in business. My choices are UC Riverside and CSU Northridge. Some people are telling me to go to UCR because it has the name being a "UC" university. Others say to choose CSUN because they have a great business program. I like both campuses and money isnt an issue for me. Due to this scenario, would you say go with UCR because of the name or choose CSUN because they have a good business program?

If you’re going into business, I’d guess employers would prefer a good business program.

Try looking for the statistics on hiring, median salaries, etc. for each of the schools. If you can get information specific to the programs you’re looking at, that’d be more helpful.

A “good business program” is no replacement for a strong liberal arts education. All else being equal, I would generally choose the stronger overall program than a single major.
