My son first got the competitive round email, and today it now says this:
“Your application has been forwarded to the academic department for their review. Every effort will be made to provide you with a timely decision. In the meantime, be sure to check the website of your academic department for departmental deadlines and any additional required documents. Remember to check your email regularly for messages from CSULB regarding admission decisions, any upcoming deadlines, or required documents.”
He is a freshman applying to the music school and has an audition scheduled in two weeks. I’m guessing he won’t find out anything else until after the audition? Does anyone have experience applying in the music department?

Just out of my curiousity, what counties you guys from? I am from Orange County, Irvine Valley College. CSULB is like 20 minutes away from me and is my 2nd option if I didn’t happen to make it into SDSU.

Golden Four: Complete
Currently completing last class for my AA-T (and 3 “filler” classes to stay full time)
So far I have acceptances from CSUF and CSULA, waiting on LB, UCI and UCLA. LB is my first choice. I’m local to South Bay.

Oh, @dogluuver, have faith. What’s your major? Psych seems to be pretty impacted, I saw some people last year with GPAs around 3.6 who were waitlisted as psych majors. I’d love them to send something out tonight so I can have cocktails in celebration or drink to forget
@H20Lily Im a child development major so its not considered “highly impacted” I have a 3.33 GPA which is alright but I’m still worried ya know its a competitive CSU but I’m trying to have faith, I would love to find out tonight so I can either party or cry lol
Just read something on the CSULB website for locals that basically says if you meet your GPA minimum for your major, have 60 transferable units and have taken all your required courses your basically guaranteed admission UNLESS your major is considered “highly impacted”, then locals don’t get priority. The highly impacted majors are
Dance
Athletic Training
Nursing
Social Work
Music

My status is now “under review.” This is what it says in the email:
